Community Action Week – Let’s Make a Difference Together

Next week, Kennington Town Council will be hosting Community Action Week — a chance for residents to come together, walk their neighbourhoods, identify local issues, and help improve the places we all call home.

Across Little Burton, Bybrook & Bockhanger, Kennington & Kennington North, and Conningbrook, residents are invited to join us for friendly community walks focused on spotting and reporting things that need attention. This includes potholes, damaged street signs, graffiti, litter, broken street furniture, overgrown areas, lighting concerns and more.

Community Action Week is about much more than tidying up. It is about building community pride, encouraging positive action, and giving residents a voice in improving their local area.

Every resident sees their neighbourhood differently. By walking together and sharing concerns, we can identify the small issues that sometimes get missed and help ensure they are reported and addressed.

You do not need any experience, equipment or special knowledge to take part. Whether you stay for a short time or the whole session, every contribution matters and everyone is welcome.

We hope this week will inspire people to:

Take pride in their local area
Meet neighbours and strengthen community connections
Help create cleaner, safer and more welcoming streets
Work positively together for the benefit of the whole community

No booking is required — simply turn up at the meeting point for your area and join in.

Small actions really do make a big difference, and together we can continue making Kennington a fantastic place to live.

We look forward to seeing you there.
