Community
You should now be aware of the Kennington Covid-19 Community Volunteers. The group was set up by myself, Cllr Christie Haggis/Ellis, my sister Lucy and Cllr Alan Dean, in order to assist Kennington residents needing help.

From collecting shopping and pharmacy prescriptions, a friendly phone call, or signposting to crisis organisations; to setting up the community pantry boxes placed in Nettlefields and Beecholme Drive.

Within a week of starting we had over 100 volunteers signed up to the Facebook page and data-base offering to help. We leafleted over 5000 properties in the area and are now supporting more than 50 individuals, couples and families.

We decided to continue with the group and adapt to meeting whatever our community needs, both during and after the pandemic. We are now Kennington Community Volunteers and our newest initiative is the Kennington Community School Uniform Swap Shop, to ease costs for parents in September.

If you would like to get involved or need some help, please contact us directly or via our Facebook page, Kennington Community Volunteers.
