Get ready for Pickle Ball! 

 

The final section of the Ryland Road Play Area will be completed over the next few months with the installation of the Multi-Use Games Area. Play and exercise equipment for all different age groups has been available since 2023. Ashford Borough Council have reviewed the site to see how users interact with the open space and have opted for a low sided fenced version of the MUGA. The lower sides will ensure the MUGA is welcoming for all. 

 

As well as a basketball hoop, the MUGA will provide the first painted “Pickle Ball” court in the borough. Never heard of Pickle Ball? Have a look here and get ready to join the next sports craze. 

 

Installation will very start soon and will be completed by 6th August. It will not be immediately in use as the tarmac needs to settle. Line painting will occur 6-8 weeks later, in early September.
