Kennington Community Council was successful in securing 16 fruit trees to plant across two areas. These were funded by the Government’s £2.5 million tree planting fund, designed to commemorate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III in 2024. The projects will create new community orchards and micro woodlands in urban areas.

Thousands of trees are set to be planted to mark the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, celebrating His Majesty’s passion for the environment. They will connect communities with nature as a permanent reminder of the Coronation, while helping meet the national target to treble tree planting rates by the end of this Parliament.
