SAVE THE DATE: Speedwatch Community Event, 18th September at 7.00pm in the St Mary's Community Centre (just off Rylands Road).

Speed throughout many roads in Kennington are of concern to many. With this in mind the Community Council are looking to see whether we can help increase the number of Speedwatch sessions that can run each month.

To do this, the current Kennington Speedwatch team will need more members. They need anyone that can spare some time, the more members, the easier this will be and the more monitoring and the more success they will have reducing the speed throughout the roads in Kennington and making drivers aware of the speeds they are doing.

The teams that go out meet only on dry and in day light hours to monitor vehicle speeds and report repeat offenders to the Police.

So how can you find out what volunteering for Speedwatch would involve?

Alan Watson the Community Speedwatch Manager from Kent Police is coming along to an information event we are holding on Wednesday 18th September at 7pm in the St Mary's Community Centre just off Rylands Road.

Alan will talk to us about exactly what would be involved and answer questions and concerns you may have. Simon who runs the Kennington team will also be available to talk with.

Meantime if you would like to read up a little more or even sign up now The Community Speedwatch website can be found here: https://communityspeedwatch.org/
