NEW GRANT SUPPORT FOR RECREATIONAL CLUB

Kennington residents are lucky to have many sports and recreational clubs in our area. These include rugby, hockey, football, athletics and water sports. Last year, the Council awarded grants for hockey and sailing, as well as setting aside £5,000 towards the Rylands Road Play Area renovation. 

Now Council has approved a grant towards the cost of expanding opportunities for residents at the Pirates Canoe Club on Conningbrook Lakes. The grant will support purchase of Stand Up Paddleboards, the increased storage facilities needed to house them when not in use and, very importantly, safety equipment and training. The Club has also bought paddleboards with a grant from the Kent Sport Small Grants scheme. 

The Club boasts membership from 10 years of age up to to and above 75 years..
